Data Analysis HOW-TO
This video explains how to do the Angled Data Analysis exercise. It can also be found in the Help section.
Steps
- Read the information available on the right side of the screen especially the number of indications
- Put the exercise in full-screen mode using the button on the bottom left corner of the exercise
- Press New Indication button
- Adjust the B-Scan range as needed
- Adjust the C-Scan range as needed
- Use the Scan Position to find the first defect
- Adjust Gate A to cover the entire indication
- Use the Angle to find the highest amplitude
- Press Get Max Amp button
- Position the vertical black cursor in the S-Scan in the middle of the indication
- Press X1 button
- For height calculation, use the angle to find the first -6 dB drop point
- Press Y1 button
- Use the angle to find the second -6 dB drop point
- Press Y2 button
- For length calculation, locate the Angle in the middle of the indication
- Use the Scan Position to find the first -6 dB point
- Press Z1 button
- Use the angle to find the second -6 dB drop point
- Press Z2 button
- Based on the Acceptance Criteria, accept or reject the indication
- If a second indication is present, start again from step 3
- Press Validate button
- If the analysis is correct the button Skip turns green. If not, it remains yellow
- Press Reset to start the exercise over.
